Topographic mapping is a 2D representation of the 3D surface of a site, with contour lines showing elevation, breaklines showing changes in slope or grade, and surface models for engineering analysis. The output is ready to drop into AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or any standard civil or survey platform.
Aerial topographic mapping produces comparable results to traditional survey at a fraction of the time and cost, with the additional benefit of a complete orthomosaic photo backdrop for visual reference. For projects that require a PLS stamp, we coordinate with your surveyor or a local PLS.
When To Use It
Existing conditions base file. A topo map of the current site before design begins. The civil engineer uses it as the base for site grading, drainage, and utility design.
Site planning and feasibility. A topo map with overlaid property lines, wetlands, and flood zones helps owners and developers understand what is buildable.
Drainage and stormwater design. Topo maps are the basis for drainage calculations, retention pond sizing, and stormwater routing. The contour intervals and surface models are CAD-ready.
Permit and lender packages. Many jurisdictions and lenders require a topographic map as part of the submittal package. Our deliverables meet the format requirements of most agencies.

Contours, breaklines, and surface model delivered in DWG format. Compatible with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BricsCAD, and any standard civil or survey platform.
GeoTIFF Surface
A raster surface model in GeoTIFF format. Drop into QGIS, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, or any GIS platform. Useful for drainage and slope analysis.
LandXML Surface
A surface model in LandXML format for direct import into Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or other civil engineering platforms. Preserves the TIN structure.
Orthomosaic Photo
A high-resolution aerial photo of the site, georeferenced and scaled. Useful as a visual reference layer in the CAD file or in stakeholder presentations.

What contour interval do you deliver?
Standard delivery is 1-foot contours for Florida projects (or 0.5-meter if requested). Tighter intervals (0.5-foot, 0.25-foot) are available for sites with subtle grade changes. We can also deliver a raw TIN or DEM for engineers who want to generate their own contours.
What is the cost of topographic mapping?
Starting at $1,200 for sites up to 5 acres. Larger sites, multi-day flights, and projects that require breaklines in complex terrain are quoted based on acreage and complexity. The deliverable is the DWG linework, GeoTIFF, LandXML, and orthomosaic.
How quickly can you deliver?
Standard delivery is 5-7 business days from the day of flight. Rush delivery (2-3 business days) is available. For projects with multiple sites or phases, we deliver on a fixed schedule.
Can you provide a PLS-stamped topographic map?
Yes. We coordinate with your surveyor or a local PLS who reviews the data, performs the QA/QC, and stamps the deliverable. Stamping adds 1-3 business days to the schedule and is priced based on project size and complexity.
